- Miaoli County, located in northwestern Taiwan, has a subtropical monsoon climate, influenced by both the northeast monsoon in winter and the southwest monsoon in summer.
- Climate Type: Humid subtropical (Köppen Cfa)
- Temperature: Mild winters, hot and humid summers
- Rainfall: Seasonal, with a rainy season during summer and autumn
- Temperature:
- Annual average temperature: Around 21–23°C (70–73°F)
- Summer (June–September): Hot and humid. Average highs around 30–34°C (86–93°F)
- Winter (December–February): Mild and damp. Average lows around 10–14°C (50–57°F). Occasional cold snaps from the northeast monsoon
- Annual rainfall: Around 2,000–2,500 mm (79–98 inches)
- Rainy season: May to September (especially during the plum rain season in May–June and typhoon season in summer/autumn)
- Driest months: Typically November to February
- Winds and Weather Patterns:
- Northeast Monsoon: Blows from October to March, bringing cooler, wetter weather
- Southwest Monsoon: Active in summer, bringing heavy rains and occasional typhoons
- Typhoons: Can affect the region between June and October
- Microclimates: Due to the varied topography of MIaoli – from coastal plains to inland hills and mountains – Miaoli has some micro climatic differences:
